Williamson County is
served by two public school systems: The Williamson County Board of
Education and the Franklin Special School District. These systems
received the Governor's A+ Award for Excellence in Education. All high schools are
comprehensive with vocational/technical programs offered to all
students.
Private schools in the
area include Battle Ground Academy, Brentwood Academy, Heritage
Covenant, Harpeth Academy, Willow Hall and O'More College of Design.

The Williamson County site of
Columbia State Community College offers day and evening college
level credit courses, continuing education in both credit and
non-credit classes, and community service courses. Rutherford
County is home to Middle Tennessee State University, third largest
in the state.
Rutherford County has a roster of
business and industry that makes a Who's Who: names like Nissan,
Bridgestone, State Farm Insurance, Samsonite, General Electric,
Walden books, Ingram and Pillsbury, to list only a few.
The Nissan pickup truck, Sentra and
Altima are produced at the massive 5.3 million-square-foot facility
in Smyrna.
Williamson
Medical Center, with 140 beds, including acritical care unit, oncology
unit and birth place, provides a modern facility for medical care.
Approximately 59 doctors staff the Williamson Medical Center.
Middle Tennessee Medical
Center in Murfreesboro is a regional hospital. The Alvin C. York
Veterans Administration Medical Center has over 1,400 employees to
serve the medical needs of veterans.
The
Williamson County Public Library offers a 65,000-volume collection,
which features an extensive non-fiction collection and local
